LED and Display Light Measurement
Imaging and spectral measurement combined for display uniformity testing on the production line.
Overview
The LumiTop 4000 and LumiTop 2700 imaging photometers and colorimeters are used together with a CAS spectrometer to measure luminance and colour uniformity of displays in production. They also include a photodiode, so they combine the advantages of three different instrument types: the very high accuracy of spectral point measurement, the analysis options of an imaging colorimeter, and the time resolution of a photodiode.
A patented optical design allows all three sensors to measure at the same time. The accurate spectral measurement is used as an instant reference and transferred to the full display area of the camera, so measurement time is very short and all relevant optical tests can be carried out at one test station.
The LumiTop 4000 developed from the LumiTop 2700 can detect and analyse smaller defects and non-uniformities, and allows single pixel analysis with a 100 mm lens within a limited field of view. A hardware trigger makes it suitable for timed measurement processes such as optical test of µLED wafers, and its high brightness mode extends the dynamic range for modulated displays and light sources such as OLED displays.
